Having breakfast at a hotel in Korea

Plan breakfast around your itinerary, dietary needs and checkout time.

Hotel breakfast in Korea may be a buffet, set menu or café-style service. Check whether it is included in your booking and confirm the venue and hours the day before so you can start calmly.

Check whether breakfast is included

Read the booking confirmation or hotel app for inclusion, guest count and extra fees. If it is not included, ask the front desk about same-day payment and whether non-guests may use the restaurant.

Save the hours and venue

Check opening hours, last entry and the restaurant location. On a busy morning, go down a little early. On a departure day, decide your airport or station transfer first and work backward from it.

Take only what you will eat

Start with small portions and return for more. Note hot and cold stations, drinks and allergy labels. Ask before taking food or hotel tableware to your room or outside.

Explain allergies and restrictions

Ask staff about ingredients and preparation areas for nuts, dairy, eggs, seafood and other restrictions. Buffets may share tongs or surfaces, so carry a safe packaged option if your allergy is severe.

Ask before taking food away

Do not assume you can put breakfast in your bag or eat it in the room. Ask which fruit, bread or drinks, if any, may be packed. Keep a nearby convenience store or bakery as a backup.

Leave time for checkout and luggage

Allow time to return to the room, pack and wait at reception. Check the refrigerator, chargers, passport and valuables before checkout, and ask about luggage storage and collection time.
