For a trip longer than a few days, laundry keeps bags light. Start with your accommodation, then use a self-service laundromat if needed.
Check the accommodation first
Hotels, guesthouses and residences differ: there may be an in-room machine, shared laundry room or paid service. Check the booking details and on-site guide first.
Search for 빨래방 or coin laundry
If your accommodation has none, search maps for 빨래방, 코인세탁소 or self-service laundry. Machines, payment, detergent and hours vary; read the signs before starting.
Read garment labels and machine capacity
Check whether items can be tumble-dried and avoid overloading. Separate delicate, dark or towel-heavy loads when practical, and follow the machine’s stated capacity.
Follow the detergent and drying instructions
Some machines dose detergent automatically while others require a purchase. Read the screen or notice rather than guessing. Remove items promptly when finished.
Build laundry time into the day
Pair washing with a meal, café or short walk. Keep passports, electronics and valuables out of the load, and follow the shop’s rules if leaving briefly.
